Who Is Chris Stewart?
According to his bio:
Chris Stewart
Board of Education, Director/Clerk

Term: 2007-2011
Chris Stewart, no stranger to how the Internet works, has another website.
On this site, Chris Stewart keeps a tamer version of his Rahelio Soleil’s American Hot Sausage blog… the writing style in parts matches his old work, especially the post titles… other than the fact that he stopped calling people with whom he disagrees “coons”.
He may still have a journal on the Daily Kos, but honestly, who can really bother to look there. Last time I checked he was getting railed upon by some Kossacks… they even eat their own, so that’s even more reason to avoid it.

Chris Stewart is the founder of Work For People, a faith-based job assistance collaborative. As a business specialist with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Stewart works with business leaders to develop the future workforce in key industries. Through previous experience in social services, Stewart learned how social service delivery problems and home life issues detract from educating disadvantaged students.

A native of New Orleans, LA, Stewart is a certified career development facilitator with special training in case management of clients with dual diagnoses of domestic abuse and chemical dependency.

I look forward to working with you to build bridges that will carry all Minneapolis kids from their neighborhoods into the seat of Minnesota's grand economy.

You know--NONE of his bio checks out. He does not seem to be actually employed at the state at all. I can find no email address, no mention no anything.
As for his organization "Work For People", there is no such name registered in any way with the secretary of state. So, its either completely bogus or completely rinky-dink non entity.
Makes you wonder what kind of person he really is. Certainly not anybody with the skills necessary to actually run a school district.

Mike,
Stewart's bio doesn't seem to specify which state in whcih he's worked. So, "Work For People" comes up with tones of search results, most of which are not names... even if you search with the word "Minnesota".
We're not really sure that he's worked those positions in Minnesota. As I recall, while writing as Rahelio Soleil, he claimed to be a minister... he might simply have been working as a minister after moving into Minnesota.
Of course, there's the other possibility... the one you've suggested: he's entirely full of crap.
I should be a little more specific...
We don't quite know whether he was officially a hired employee or a contractor.
Remember whe Chris Stewart decided it would help his campaign if he were to throw other "rahelio soleil" writers under the bus... claiming three other writers used the name Rahelio Soleil?
He describes himself thusly:
RS1 [the primary Rahelio Soleil writer] - Progressive Baptist minister advocating for the least of them (on hiatus).

You can also find him on the eDemocracy Forums. (As the folks at Shot in the Dark about eDemocracy Forums sometime.)

He apparently was a regular contributor as Rahelio Soleil to City Pages, the Rake, and The New Black Magazine.
Perhaps he still is... but under what name?
Check some of Rahelio's writings in this search:

Here's a surprise--I DONT THINK HE ACTUALLY LIVES IN MINNEAPOLIS.
Pardon my shouting, but shouldn't that be a requirement to manage the taxpayers schools?
I live a couple doors down from where he claims to live (in Nokomis) and my wife and I have NEVER EVER seen him in the five years I've lived here.
We always wondered if we'd "meet the board guy" (before we knew anything about him) on a walk or block party or whatever---you know, because we send our kids to an MPS school, we kinda thought it'd be cool.
But near as we can tell its a woman only in that house.
SO out of curiosity, I looked it up in the city property rolls (publicly accessible) and sure enough, the house he claims to live in is NOT in his name at all.
Huh.
A carpetbagger.
So, having actually voted for the guy I know will make a point of telling everybody what a liar and catastrophe he is for our schools. He makes me want to yank my kids right out of the district.
We're not even the rather snooty crowd that burroughs is, yet he makes us feel unwelcome even over here.
Just a resume boosting hater playing the race card.
Boy do we feel stupid voting for him!
Mike,
Perhaps you should contact the Minneapolis Star-Tribune with your information.
In fact, you should be able to find the names of the reporters for each of the recent stories we've posted, not to mention the news editors and/or producers for KARE 11, Twin Cities Daily Planet, and the Strib.
I highly recommend it.
Thanks for reading.
